Advanced Diagnostic and Treatment Technology

GentleWave

The GentleWave Procedure is the virtually pain-free root canal treatment. It offers a modern way to treat root canal infections with effective, high-tech cleaning designed to reach the most complex tooth anatomies where bacteria can hide. It is a less invasive treatment that saves more natural tooth structure then traditional root canal therapy treatment.

Through its proprietary cleaning process, the GentleWave Procedure clears bacteria in 3 steps:

  1. Stimulation: A high-pressure stream of fluid is stimulated, creating tiny vapor bubbles that collapse to create multisonic energy.
  2. Activation: Multisonic energy is activated to loosen and dissolve infected tissue and bacteria, including in hard-to-reach areas.
  3. Disinfection: The disinfecting fluid is swirled into a powerful vortex, lifting the infected tissue debris up and out of the canal in a quick 8-minute cycle, allowing for a pristinely clean root canal system.

With its thorough and effective cleaning, the GentleWave Procedure is the modern root canal treatment preferred by patients that offers superior cleaning of the tooth, including complex cases.

SOLEA

Solea represents a major leap forward in dentistry. This machine is a CO2 laser that produces a narrow beam of light energy that acts as an alternative to the needle and other tools used in common dental procedures. It  uses computer-controlled laser technology to smoothly, quickly, and safely vaporize the hard (teeth) and soft (gums) tissues in one's mouth.  It causes virtually no pain, vibration, or noise. In fact, nearly every patient skips anesthesia because they just don’t need it. Because of the technology it is:

  • Virtually pain-free
  • Requires no anesthesia, which is especially important for infant care
  • Takes only one to two minutes for the whole procedure
  • Has a much lower risk of infection
  • Produces very little bleeding
  • Requires no sutures
  • Provides for a shorter healing and recovery time

Itero scanner

The iTero scanner digitally captures the structure of your teeth and gums using safe optical and laser technology.  The scanner is radiation-free which means it can be safely used for everyone, even for pregnant women.  There are many benefits to this scanner and its hand held wand.

  • Visual Aid - The iTero scanner allows Dr. Xu and the team to use your scan to show you your mouth in a way you've never seen it before. This can help explain any treatment needs and allow you to see any progress you have made.
  • Comfort and speed - With iTero scanning this means no more impression materials in your mouth. You will have a faster appointment time as there will be no materials to wait as they set up. Scanning your mouth takes about two to three minutes.
  • More accurate results- iTero technology allows us to get a far more detailed view of your teeth and soft tissue. The accuracy also allows for a better fit if you choose Invisalign with our office.

Cephalometric & PANORAMIC X-RAYs

Both panoramic and cephalometric X-rays are a type of extraoral imaging, meaning that nothing is inserted into your mouth during the imaging process. Panoramic and cephalometric X-ray machines simply rotate around your head to capture images and provide doctor and team with high-definition images.

  • A panoramic dental X-ray is straight on and shows all of the structures in your mouth on a single image, including your upper and lower teeth, jaw joints, nerves, sinuses and supporting bone.
  •  A cephalometric X-ray is a unique tool that enables us to capture a complete radiographic image of  the skull in profile, allowing us to assess jaw and bone growth, and how the teeth will develop in that matrix.
